In addition to the courses offered to students as part of the degree programmes, the Institute of Tax Law also holds seminars and professional development courses in tax law for third parties. For example, in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA), the Institute of Tax Law organises a biennial four-day professional development course in federal tax law in Schwarzenburg (the Schwarzenburg Seminar), typically with more than 35 speakers and around 400 participants. The Schwarzenburg Seminar provides a forum for a more intensive exchange of ideas between experts from the fields of academia, administration, justice and consultancy and has long enjoyed great popularity among seminar participants.
